I bought a car and the title isn't signed?
I bought a SUV through my brother-in-law. it was his Cousin's SUV, but he didn't have time to sell it himself. i decided to buy it. The car was at my brother-in-laws house with the title in it. we assumed (and stupidly didn't look) to see if the title was signed. I wired the money to the cousin and took the car home. I had to let it sit for awhile cause i didn't have the cash to get the registration and tags for it right away. ANYWAYS turns out he forgot to sign the title. He's living in Mexico at the moment and only has a P.O box in UTAH. (he travels a lot and doesn't have a his own place) I need to get the registration NOW and I have no way to get the title to him to sign. I'm desperate. I asked the DMV if we can fax it but they said no. Is there anything I can do? cause I have to use the SUV this thanks giving weekend.
Mailing it to him may take a month or more.
Sign the title yourself. If your story is true and the cousin was OK with the sale who cares.
