Trying to buy home....landlord refuses to verify rental history!?
We have a low credit score but the last 16 months of history is squeaky clean. Now our landlord says he will not verify our rental history because we do not want to buy his house. We never agree'd to that. He also had us pay cash, he refused to accept anything else. He gave us generic type reciepts...some with just the amount written, no signiture. Besides the rental history we have no credit cards or anything else that could be used for lines of credit for FHA or VA(which is how we wanted to go) How screwed are we? No Car loans or anything either....
He does not have to verify anything that he does not want to verify.
There are no laws to force him to do that.
Rent is not credit history anyway, rent is always paid in advance.
