Is it legal to have a 'garage sale' on my driveway, to sell all my old junk, or do I need some sort of permit?
I have loads of good stuff (old good-condition furniture, childrens toys, prams etc etc) and I've seen that other people in the area have garage sales, where they just sell this kind of stuff on their driveways. Do you need a permit or is it ok to just put a sign up and sell away?!
I would do a car boot sale, but I don't have a car!!!
Call your town/city hall - it depends on where you live. Some places are relaxed about it, some have really clenched bumcheeks about it. Some are in-between. Some laws are by state, some by county, some by city/town.
So call first.
