Who Buys Cars For Cash
February 19th, 2011 by admin

who buys cars for cash
Does "Cash for Clunkers" reward people for being socially irresponsible?

My old car gets good gas mileage, so I can't benefit from "Cash for Clunkers". Am I being punished for being socially responsible all these years?

Wouldn't it make more sense to reward everyone equally who buys a new car that gets good gas mileage, instead of only rewarding the irresponsible ones?

Do your research, folks. An additional 2 billion dollars is being taken from monies which were supposed to have been allocated for research and improvements for greener manufacturing and vehicles--aka: Jobs! Who do you think will contribute more to the failing economy, people who were out of work, but now have a new job in an open, environmentally friendly field or people who are buying a new car that s/he could not have afforded without the clunker coupon?

In essence, your hard-earned tax dollars are paying for a lot of other people's brand spanking new vehicles. This will not stimulate the economy nearly as much as new jobs would. It might vamp up the auto industry momentarily; haven't they been funded enough already with our money? The government needs to stop encouraging our citizens to live beyond their means. This is how we got into this mess to begin with--businesses and people living beyond their resources.

I bought a used car a year ago and it gets the job done. What about the poor used car dealers who now will have less product available to sell (Clunkers much be junked.)? What about people who are trying to be financially responsible by buying a less expensive used car in cash? What is going to happen to our environment when dumping so many vehicles all at once into junk yards, etc?

Right now, our government wants for us to become more dependent on them. Our government is supposed to be "by and for the people," not the other way around. Put the Cash for Clunkers extension to bed and use the extra 2 billion dollars to rehire and create new, green jobs in research and manufacturing.
